It is the belief of the New Life Church that all Christians should be actively involved in a local assembly so that they may commit to sharing their spiritual gifts with other believers (Heb 10:25; Eph 4:11-12).

If you are interested in pre-marital counseling, your first step is to call the church office to schedule an appointment to complete the Pre-Martial application (both partners must be present). At that time, you will be given further requirements that are at the request of our senior pastor, Marlin D. Harris. Once you have completed this process, your application will be submitted to the Biblical-Lay Counseling Ministry who will contact you to begin counseling.

The act of baptism serves as an outward expression of the inward transformation that occurs once a person has placed their faith in Jesus Christ. It is not an act to be completed in order to receive salvation but is the first act of obedience which visibly identifies the Christian with the Church body (Matt 28:19; Acts 2:38).

People are Valuable to God & to His kingdom

We believe that all people are valuable to God and to His kingdom. Because people matter to God, they matter to us as well. It is our desire and our responsibility to provide an environment of welcome and acceptance to all. (John 3:16; Romans 10:13; Acts 10:34)

Facilitating Strong, Healthy & Meaningful Relationships

We believe that the family is an institution of God that should be provided, promoted and preserved for the purpose of facilitating strong, healthy and meaningful relationships. We are a family of God and it is important to us that we build strong families while also becoming a family for those who are without one. (Ephesians 3:14-15; Acts 2:42-47; John 19:26-27)

We’re Stronger Together than Alone

We believe that we can do more together than we can alone. Our mission requires that we do ministry as a team. We are committed to building and developing a congregation of teams to ensure that every member has a place of significance where they can contribute to the fulfillment of our mission. (Ephesians 4:16; Matthew 18:19; Ecclesiastes 4:9-12; Romans 12:3-5; I Corinthians 3:6-10)

Personal Commitment is Necessary for Spiritual Growth

We believe that a personal commitment to spiritual growth and development is necessary for individuals to become mature disciples. Spiritual growth is not an event, it is a process that happens daily in the lives of individuals. Every believer should have a desire for spiritual growth, a personal plan to use as a road map, someone to be accountable too and a personal commitment and discipline to walk it out every day. (I Peter 2:1-2; II Timothy 2;14-16; II Timothy 2:1-2; Romans 10:17)

Every Believer Has Been Given Special Gifts

We believe that every believer has been given special gifts and abilities and is expected by God to discover, develop and deploy them. Spiritual gifts are needed for a healthy body. Each believer is most effective when they are working in their area of giftedness. Therefore, we encourage the use of spiritual gifts, we value them, we need them and provide an opportunity for them. (Romans 12:6-21; I Corinthians 12; I Timothy 4:14; II Timothy 1:6; I Peter 4:10)

Every Believer is Called to Be a Soul Winner

We believe that every believer is called to be a soul winner and that each of us should do our part to fulfill the Great Commission at home and throughout the world. God has called people to reach people. We believe that the most effective way to do this is through relationships—”each one reaching one.” While this begins at home, at work, and at play, we also understand that our responsibility is to include “…the uttermost parts of the world,” as well. Therefore, we joyfully promote and support the ministry of World Missions. (Proverbs 11:30; John 1:43-45; 3:1-21; 4:28-30; Acts 8:25-40; Matthew 28:18-20)

We Should Do Our Very Best

We believe that in whatever we do, we should do our very best. How we do things affects our witness. It is our conviction that we should strive for excellence in all things. (Ephesians 6:7-8; Colossians 3:23-24; Matthew 25:14-30)

We Should Manage HIS Resources Wisely

We believe that God is the owner of everything and that we are required as stewards to manage His resources wisely. We acknowledge that everything we have is a gift from God, including our money, our time, and our talent. Therefore, we are committed to practicing and teaching the biblical principles of stewardship. (Malachi 3:8-12; Luke 6:38; II Corinthians 9:6-13; Matthew 25:14-30)

Recognizing & Training Potential Leaders

We believe in recognizing and training potential leaders who are committed to Christ and willing to impact their world. We believe leadership can be learned. Therefore we are constantly on the lookout for self-motivated learners that we can invest in for the purpose of helping them fulfill their destiny. (Deuteronomy 31:14,23; I Samuel 16:10-13; Acts 13:36; II Timothy 2:2)

Depending on the Power & Presence of the Holy Spirit

There are several reasons that you may need to meet with someone for assistance. Here are a few of the most common:

Benevolence – If you are seeking financial assistance, New Life Church and Community Centers offer missions assistance for rent, utilities and for special circumstances. We are also able to refer you to numerous community resources if we are not able to assist.

Prayer – New Life Church Intercessory prayer team receives prayer requests 24 hours a day by email at prayer@newlife-atl.org. You may also call the prayer line at 770-322-6262, extension 30. Messages are checked daily.

Counseling –  Our Biblical Lay Counseling Ministry renders wise, biblical – sound counsel to New Life members in need of spiritual guidance and encouragement regarding struggles in their lives. If you are in need of counseling services please contact the church office @ 770-322-6262 to schedule an appointment with a Biblical Lay Counselor.

Our International Missions Ministry – Our International Missions Ministry (IMM) seeks to share the love of Jesus Christ through Global initiatives, acts of service and compassion, and sharing the gospel of Christ around the world.
